About the Institute
The Institute of Theology and Philosophy is a scientific-research institute of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, which was established on August 19, 2019 as a non-profit legal entity. The members of the Institute are researchers from the fields of Theology and Philosophy from different Universities (among them Doctors and Masters of Theology from the Faculty of Theology of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
The Institute on its scale is a large research Institute in the field of Theology and Philosophy, which is focused on scientific research activities in these fields. The Institute has already published 6 books and translations on current issues in Theology. The Institute of the Theology and Philosophy collaborates with the Gregory Palamas International Institute to develop research activities and other specific areas.
The Institute of the Theology and Philosophy organizes an international Theological conference twice a year, as well as various scientific meetings and discussions.
The director of the Institute is Associate Professor Gocha Barnovi, and the Deputy Director is Guram Lursmanashvili, the chairman of the scientific council of the Research Institute of Theology and Philosophy is prof. Andrea Zakhariu.
