Guidemate student role description
Role – Volunteer
Commitment – Up to 3 hours per week
Responsible to – Guide the freshman of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University
Who is a Guidemate?
Guidemate is a project to support actively first and second years throughout University. Guidemates can share advice on a variety of topics such as: budgeting, accommodation, and clubs/societies, pointing students in the right direction to meet people with similar interests and signposting university services if required.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for students from any subject area with the knowledge of English B2 site or campus, who are willing to volunteer their time to help others make the most of university.
What are the responsibilities?
Tasks can vary, but you should expect to:
• Meet and greet students during Welcome Week.
• Continue to support new students throughout their first/second year.
• Refer students to appropriate university services
Why become a guidemate?
Being a guidemate is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable employability skills whilst helping others. Besides this, it is great chance to communicate and study different nation’s culture and traditions.
How to be a guidemate?

P.S. Whilst matching can take place at any time during the academic year, guidemates are most likely to be assigned a mate during the summer before students start at University.
