ALbina Agapishvili, an International Relations bachelor program students of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University who spend Fall semester of 2021-2022 academic year at Cardinal Stefapn Wyszynski University in Warsaw with the FUCE scholarship program. Despite the limitations caused by the Covid Pandemic, the learning process was physically ongoing, which enabled Albina to have an exciting and productive student life. After mobility, Albina shares with us her impressions.
Albina, how well did your expectations for this program come true (what came true and what did not?)
To be honest, this program has exceeded all expectations. Of course, I had an inner expectation that the exchange program would teach me a lot, grow me personally, and bring great innovation to my student life. Indeed, I spent an unforgettable semester in Poland, made friends, which is very important for a person, got a great life experience, which is called independent living, spent days full of happiness and joy, traveled to Europe, got to know their culture closer and learned interesting courses. The only problem I would single out was the language barrier, because the Poles did not turn out to be a very English-speaking nation, but, over time, we still understood each other. ;)
What was the most important benefit for you from this program?
The biggest benefit for me was the new experience. By this I mean new skills, new views, new ideas, new acquaintances, friends, culture, knowledge. This program has brought great news to my life.
Which personal skills did this program help you to improve?
I will highlight three key personal skills that the FUCE Mobility Program has helped me improve. Of course, I became more independent, confident and highly motivated.
Which professional skills did this mobility help you to improve?
As for professional skills, I have become more open and sociable, I can express my opinion more openly and clearly on various issues.
What do you miss the most?
I will miss every second spent with my friends and my student life there, which was full of happiness and will remain as sweet memories forever.
Compare student life in Georgia and abroad ...
In my case, the biggest difference is the right combination of studying and having fun while studying abroad, what I could not / would not do in Georgia, living independently, traveling to Europe, learning a foreign language and many other nuances that studying abroad gives us.
What are the advantages of participating in an exchange program? Why should a student participate in a similar program?
In my opinion, participating in an exchange program is already a great advantage, because this program always teaches you something, exchanges it, grows you personally, makes you more independent, open, more motivated to learn, and generally presents everything differently.
Your recommendation for other students who wish to participate in the exchange program
Students, if you were given such a chance, do not miss it and moreover, try to create this opportunity yourself, do everything for it and believe me in the end you will not regret it. I want to wish each of you the emotions that the exchange program has given me. I can confidently say that I spent the most beautiful and unforgettable five months of my student life abroad.
Complete the sentence: If not this exchange program, I ...
I would not have felt the charm, emotion, skills, knowledge and friends that accompany the exchange program.
Would you add anything ....
In my opinion, along with the challenges, each student gets the greatest experience with this or that exchange program. I do not know how to thank my Sabuna for such an unforgettable experience and emotions. I love Sabaun and I am ready to continue my studies with greater motivation, because I consider education to be the beginning of everything beautiful and good!
