The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (Poland)
Vano Tatulashvili, a student of the Sabauni Law Master's Program, spent the 2019-2020 academic year on an exchange program at the Catholic University of Lublin.
"The chance that Sabauni gave me to study in the most beautiful city of Poland, Lublin, at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) was a different experience in both my personal and academic life.
The most important thing for me was to get a clear experience. From the very first day of studying at KUL, the highly interactive teaching style exceeded my expectations. The teaching style of the university's law faculty, headed by American professor Dylan Swenson, is very different and very practical. Within the framework of educational courses, I participated both in simulated processes and in practical tasks of reviewing the legal systems of different countries, which gave me a different perspective on certain legal issues.
It is worth noting the informal relations between lecturers and students, which play a big role in the development and refinement of the student's personal qualities. For example, within the course of one of the subjects, we visited different cities, together with the lecturer we held a very pleasant and fun evening, which, of course, included academic content, which was very helpful in establishing personal relationships between students and lecturers. I got to know the culture of many countries, and as a lawyer, I personally heard from the representatives of these countries about the weaknesses and strengths of their legal systems, which I think developed an objective view of our legal world, which will be very useful in my daily work."
