Tornike Tsiklauri
Palacky University in Olomouc (Czech Republic)
Tornike Tsiklauri, BA student of Political Science program of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University was awarded with Erasmus+ ICM grant and studied one semester at Palacky University in Olomouc (Czech Republic).
The five months I spent in the Czech Republic made me grow a lot personally and professionally, I became more self-confident, learned to choose the right friends, improved my skills of diplomacy and empathy. As for professional skills, I improved my decision-making, problem-solving skills and improved my emotional intelligence. This program was interesting, as I went through the subjects that were interesting to me, I highlighted religious studies, cultural and social anthropology, and problems of post-Soviet countries. Each one is a subject of my interest, because it is associated with politics or related sciences. I fell in love with each subject, thanks to the lecturers' maximum enthusiasm.
After returning to Georgia, I will really miss the friends I made there from different continents of the world, the Czech population and their hospitality.
This is my first time to go abroad and specially to study for one semester. From this point of view, I think if we really want to know who we are and what we want in this life, joining a program like this is really the best way. Maybe a student has been abroad and has a certain idea of what lies ahead, but going abroad for the first time and studying for one semester is an incomparable guarantee for the birth of a new "me"!
If it wasn't this exchange program, I wouldn't have seen the essence of the word "progress" and I would have been locked in only one-time loop. But Saba University showed me that the basis of progress is hard work and self-belief.
