Curriculum Vitae

Ushangi Bakhtadze is an Affiliated Professor at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and Head of the University’s Center for Crime and Criminal Justice. In 2020, he defended his doctoral dissertation entitled “A Criminological Analysis of the Criminalization Process.” He holds an MSc in Criminology from the University of Oxford.

Since 2009, he has been a member of the Georgian Bar Association and is the Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer of the law firm Jorbenadze Gacerelia Counselors. Since 2013, he has been lecturing in the fields of Criminology and Criminal Law. He has been affiliated with Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University since 2015.

Research Interests: Crime, Causes of Crime, Crime Prevention and Control, Crime and Media.
