About the Faculty
The Faculty of Social Sciences, as an educational structural unit, implements his educational programs at undergraduate level.
The Faculty of Social Sciences, according to the University’s mission and plan, aims to prepare competitive and qualified students with high civic responsibility, professional ethics and with extensive and interdisciplinary competence.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences implements 5 educational programs. Notably:
- Undergraduate Program in International Relations;
- Undergraduate Program in Political Science;
- Undergraduate Program in Psychology;
- Undergraduate Program in Sociology;
- Undergraduate Program in English Philology.
The academic and invited staff implementing the above-mentioned educational programs are composed of both local and foreign highly qualified professors, whose lectures and seminars are conducted using modern teaching methods. At the same time, professors from international partner universities visit the faculty several times a semester, within the framework of academic and administrative study mobility, to hold lectures and training courses.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences aims to develop students' professional skills. To achieve this, the faculty encourages students as much as possible to engage them in a variety of extracurricular activities - projects of various types and content, local or international scientific conferences and other events.
The Faculty of Social Sciences actively collaborates with many European universities, namely with faculties or department of the Universities of Poland, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, etc. We offer to students several exchange programs: Erasmus +, international winter and summer schools, international training courses, Long-term and short-term mobile courses etc. It should be especially noted the scholarship of the European Federation of Catholic Universities (FUCE), which is specially designed for students of the Faculty of Theology and of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University.
Conducting scientific activities is a priority for the faculty. To this end, numerous books, manuals and articles have been published and translated. Michel Mouskhely Center for European Studies operates at the faculty.
Involvement of students in research activities and projects is one of the main priorities of the faculty.
