Event update
On November 28, 2024, in the framework of the Visegrad Project, a panel discussion titled "Migration Policy in Visegrad, Western Balkans, and Eastern Partnership Countries: Problems and Challenges” was successfully conducted by Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University with the following partners: Palacky University Olomouc (Czechia), the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava (Slovakia), and the University of St. Kliment Ohridski-Bitola (North Macedonia).
The event featured representatives from four universities, each presenting in-depth reports on the migration policies of their respective countries and the challenges faced in their implementation. The discussion provided a platform for diverse stakeholders, including academic colleagues, representatives from non-governmental organizations, public sector officials, and PhD students, to engage in meaningful discourse regarding the multifaceted issues surrounding migration policy in these regions.
Participants highlighted critical aspects of migration governance, including legislative frameworks, social-economic impacts, and the role of international cooperation in addressing migration challenges. The fruitful exchange of ideas enriched participants' understanding of the current landscape of migration policy and underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in developing effective and sustainable solutions.
