CUP Summer School 2025 in Dubrovnik
Two doctoral students from Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, Tinatin Feikrishvili and Ioseb Edisherashvili, participated in the summer school “Practicing Resilience – Preparing for Recovery” held in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The event was organized through the joint collaboration of the Catholic Universities Partnership (CUP), the Nanovic Institute for European Studies (USA), and the Catholic University of Croatia.
The ten-day summer school program was first launched in 2022, following Russia’s attack on Ukraine and the start of the full-scale war. Its goal is to support the Ukrainian people and assist in preparing for post-war recovery. Accordingly, the entire summer school is structured around discussions of historical examples and the development of ideas for future rebuilding. During the program, young people from Catholic universities across Eastern Europe explore these themes. In addition to its intensive academic agenda, the summer school also included cultural, spiritual, and social events.
“Participating in the summer school was one of the most valuable and unforgettable experiences for me. Although the training topics addressed serious issues, the diversity of the program, the involvement of trainers from various professions, the workshops, and the activities created a balance and made the entire process very productive and engaging.
The pleasant atmosphere, the beauty of Dubrovnik, and the sincerity of the people created an environment of learning, support, and friendship.
In the end, the summer school not only enriched me with knowledge and experience, but also introduced me to many interesting people, expanded my network, and gifted me with many new friends. It was a time and place where learning, support, travel, adventure, and delightful evenings blended together perfectly.”– Tinatin Feikrishvili
