Memorandum of Cooperation Signed between the Center for Crime Prevention and Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University

Memorandum of Cooperation has been formed between Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and NNLP “Center of Crime Prevention” acting in the sphere of governance of the Ministry of Justice. The parties agreed on promoting teaching practice and preparing qualified staff. The memorandum has been signed by the director of the center Tatia Khocholava and the rector of the university Vaja Vardidze.

The memorandum aims to provide the students with the knowledge and skills useful for the future employment, practice them and prepare qualified staff. The teaching practice will be completed by 12 law students of the university selected by the university itself. The students will get acquainted with the activities of NNLP “Center of Crime Prevention” and the realization of several programs, as well as involve in organizing the activities, if they get interested.

The main activities of the NNLP “Center of Crime Prevention” involves promoting prevention of repeated crime, working with risk groups and perform activities aimed at prevention of initial crime. The main programs and directions of the center are “rehabilitation and resocialization center of the former prisoners”, common management of distance and mediation program, working with the groups under the risk of committing crime and perform activities aimed at prevention of initial crime. Raising civil and legal consciousness among youth, popularization of healthy lifestyle, promoting volunteer activities, etc.

Together with signing memorandum, the parties also organized informative meeting with the students, where they discussed not only the conditions of memorandum but also the specificities and working principles of the center.
