Erasmus+ ICM for PhD students at University of Valladolid
Call for Erasmus+ ICM student mobility at University of Valladolid is open now. The PhD students can apply for the mobility grant and spend one semester (5 month) at the hosting structural units in the hosting university. Student mobility will take place in the academic year 2023-2024.
Grant:
- Monthly Scholarship – 850 Euro;
- Travel expenses are cover by the program;
- Health and travel insurance are covered by the UVA;
- Visa fees (up 30Euro) is covered by UVA.
Additional support for students with fewer opportunities: for participants with socio-economic barriers and health problems, who belong to one of the following groups:
- Beneficiaries of the National General Scheme Grant of the Ministry of Universities (or similar in each country) in the academic year prior to the Erasmus+ mobility;
- Large families;
- Victims of terrorism or gender violence or orphans due to these causes;
- Recipients of a minimum living income/minimum insertion income benefit or any other benefit of the same or similar nature for the family unit, according to the denomination adopted in each country;
- Students at risk of social exclusion;
- Students in situations of special need and social emergency considered by the relevant competent administration;
- Students in a situation of dependency or participants with dependents;
- Students with a disability equal to or greater than 33%;
- Students coming from Ukrainian institutions.
Any of these situations must be accredited by means of a report from the Social Services of the corresponding Local, Regional or National Administration in each country or by means of a document issued by the Social Services of each partner institution. All documents will be checked during the evaluation phase.
The student will receive an extra grant of 250 EUR/month (Total for belonging to one of the related groups).
The grant is not cumulative if the student belongs to more than one group.
Who can apply for the grant:
- Student from Sabauni Doctoral School;
- Student who has not taken part in Erasmus+ ICM program at the same level over 7 months;
- Student should be enrolled at Sabauni before and during the Mobility;
- Student who has not any financial debt at the home university;
- Interested applicants should apply via online platform no later than 15th September (23:59 Spanish time).
Required documentations:
- Passport or national identity document;
- Curriculum Vitae. EUROPASS template is recommended;
- Letter of Recommendation;
- Official academic document (Transcript of Records);
- Certificate of enrolment (students) in a PhD Programme at their home institution;
- Certificate of a command of languages;
- Mobility Proposal (work plan to be carried out) signed by the academic and administrative
responsible of the home institution;
- Letter of motivation;
- In the case of applicants with special needs, applicants must upload the documents required to accredit said situation in their home country;
- Declaration of compliance with tax and national insurance obligations in the matter of grants. This declaration must be signed by the applicant.
Incomplete application will be rejected.

Each applicant will be able to contact the academic responsible in order to get more information regarding the topic of the research. Take into account that applicants must submit a draft of the work plan for the proposed topic of the offer.
Grants will be awarded under a competitive system.
Selection process and criterias:
The selection process will comprise three stages:
Formal validation of formal requirements on the part of the home institution, by conducting a check on all the documents provided. Candidates who are validated will then form part of the evaluation process.
Double evaluation of each application by the home institution and the University of Valladolid based on the following criteria:
- Academic record (or research merit): 60%
- Motivation: 20%
- Relevance of the proposal: 20%
The final score obtained, derived from the double evaluation of each application, will then pass to an assessment committee by country of origin that shall be made up of those in charge at all the partner institutions and who shall propose the final allocation of places.
In all instances, the assessment committee shall, as far as possible, ensure a balanced distribution of the grants, seeking to make sure that each home institution is allocated at least one grant, and shall seek to ensure a balanced distribution thereof in University of Valladolid areas of knowledge. The assessment committee shall submit a reasoned proposal for resolution to the University of Valladolid International Relations Committee who shall issue a prior report before the final decision.
Should the offer of academic place entail a language requirement, this will be specified in the list of places offered. Language requirements will not be considered in the selection but are a sine qua non requirement.
In the event of a tie, preference will be given to disadvantaged students, those with disabilities or socioeconomically disadvantaged applicants.
