Prof. Giorgi Goradze's visit to France and Spain
From September 24 to October 1, 2019, the Dean of the Faculty of Law of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, Associate Professor Giorgi Goradze visited the University of Pau at the invitation of the University Bayonne (France) and Bilbao (Spain). He participated in an international seminar organized by Pau University entitled "Human Rights, European Integration and Georgia: Key Challenges." The seminar was held on September 25-26, 2019. The working languages of the seminar were English, French and Spanish.
On the first day of the seminar, Giorgi Goradze made a report on the topic "Ratification of Protocol No. 16 by Georgia to the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms: A Formal Act or a Real Opportunity to Strengthen Human Rights?"
On the second day of the seminar, Mr. Giorgi participated in a round table discussion on the challenges facing Georgia on the path to European integration, where he presented his views and answered questions.
During the visit, Giorgi Goradze met with the Director of the College of European and International Studies at the University of Pau (Collège 2EI "udtudes Européennes et Internationales"), Prof. Philip Zavol and the Head of International Relations of the University of Cadiz, Prof. Michel Remy who expressed the willing to cooperation.
In addition, Mr. Giorgi Goradze met in Bilbao with Professor Gema Thomas Martinez, Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Deusto. Mr. Martinez warmly welcomed Mr. George. The host expressed a great desire to cooperate with Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, both within and outside the Erasmus program. The parties agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding and further steps.
Mr. Giorgi Goradze also met with Professor Juana Goizueta Vertiz, dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of the Basque Country (University of the Basque Country), who also expressed a desire to cooperate with Sabauni. The parties agreed on further steps.
