Lika Zagashvili’s mobility at the Open University of Cyprus
Lika Zagashvili, a doctoral student in law at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University (SABAUNI), participated in a student mobility program under Erasmus+ at the Open University of Cyprus, where she took part in various events over the course of one month.
As part of the project, Lika gave a presentation to Cypriot students and staff about her doctoral research topic, worked in an artificial intelligence laboratory, and also participated in a summer school focused on international investment law. Despite the limited time, the mobility experience left a lasting and positive impression on her.
"To be honest, I didn’t have such high expectations. I thought that 21 days wouldn’t be enough to gain meaningful knowledge. But things turned out differently—just that one week I spent at the summer school gave me more knowledge and qualifications than I had before. In addition, I improved my English and overcame the language barrier when speaking to an audience in English. Attending lectures in English significantly boosted my self-esteem and gave me confidence. I would advise other students to take advantage of every opportunity to study abroad. I regret every chance I missed to participate in an exchange program because it’s a unique opportunity—first and foremost for personal independence, development, and professional growth. Never turn down such opportunities. Everything we do in life is difficult at first, but everything is also achievable," said Lika Zagashvili.
