Professors of Sabauni visit the Pontifical University of Krakow
On April 15-19, 2024, the academic staff of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Sabauni, the affiliated associate professor Salome Gogberashvili and the affiliated assistant professor Maka Benashvili, were in the Pontifical University of Krakow within the Erasmus+ academic staff mobility program.
In the framework of the visit, professors of Sabauni held lectures for Polish students, held working meetings with Polish colleagues and discussed ways of future cooperation.
"The mobility was interesting and fruitful. During the visit, I had several lectures with students on the topic of family, where I discussed the institution of the family in Eastern European countries and modern tendencies next to the American family. We also talked about gender stereotypes, types of domestic violence, etc. The meeting with the Polish colleagues turned out to be quite interesting, they were interested in the lecture course presented by me and most likely they will offer a similar course to students in the future. In addition, both sides expressed their readiness to participate in international conferences organized by our universities" - Salome Gogberashvili.
"During the mobility period, I held lectures-seminars, including one public lecture, which was attended by about sixty students. The seminars were mainly held in a discussion format, within which the students had the opportunity to share their opinions. The discussion with the academic staff of the host university was also interesting, during which we shared our experiences on various topics of the field. In addition, as part of an additional activity, we got acquainted with historical facts, sights of Krakow and the university library. After the mobility, I am more motivated and appreciate my work in Sabauni" - Maka Benashvili.
John Paul II Pontifical University of Krakow is one of the oldest partner universities of Sulkhan-Saba Orbelian University, with which we cooperate in various international projects.
