Research by Law Doctor and Vice-Rector featured in a high-ranking Scopus journal
Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University continues to successfully implement modern practices of academic mentoring while fostering the integration of the Georgian academic community into the international scholarly landscape. This time, the University’s School of Law has achieved another significant milestone.
A joint research paper authored by Ketevan Bakhtadze, a doctoral researcher at the School of Law, and Professor Dimitry Gegenava, Head of the Doctoral School, has been published in the international peer-reviewed journal Studia z Prawa Wyznaniowego (Studies in Law on Religion). Notably, the journal is indexed in the prestigious Scopus scientific database.
The article is titled: “Disputed Catholic Churches in Georgia and the Restitution Policy: More Unequal than Others.” The paper examines the inequalities present in the restitution process of Catholic churches in Georgia, analyzes the existing legal and institutional challenges, and emphasizes the importance of protecting the rights of religious minorities and cultural heritage.
