International Staff Week "Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging"

Shorena Parunashvili, International Relations Manager at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, took part in an International Staff Week organized by the Catholic University of Valencia on the theme of ''Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging''. 

The week's program included presentations by invited speakers, sharing of experiences, group work sessions, and poster presentations.On the first day of the week, representatives of the Catholic University of Valencia gave a brief presentation about the university, after which staff from the Inclusion Center spoke about the challenges they face in their daily work.

'' Participating in the staff week turned out to be very interesting for me. Besides meeting representatives from various European and Canadian universities, I got to learn about the experiences of foreign universities regarding inclusion and diversity. Universities in Western Europe and Canada have fairly well-developed inclusive support programs, whereas in Eastern Europe and countries outside Europe, this process is still in the process of being established. I found many things interesting that I will certainly share with SabaUni staff for future consideration. I hope this mobility will be followed by strengthened cooperation and new joint
projects, which I have already discussed with several colleagues'' - said Shorena Parunashvili.

Participants of the staff week visited a day center for preschool-age children who require special attention. Staff at the center introduced participants to the center's work and spoke about the services they provide, with state support, to help parents and their children.

Shorena Parunashvili's mobility took place from June 15-19, 2026, and was fully funded by the Erasmus+ KA171 staff mobility program. Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and the Catholic University of Valencia have been actively cooperating for years within the framework of student and staff exchange programs.
