Erasmus+ Mobility of the Bachelor's Program Head of International Relations to Hungary
Mariam Eliadze, Head of the Bachelor's Program in International Relations at SABAUNI, visited Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Hungary through the Erasmus+ Academic Staff Mobility Program.
Over the course of one week, Mariam Eliadze delivered several lectures to Hungarian students on the topics of Georgia and Ukraine, focusing on one hand on an assessment of the political and economic situation in Georgia, and on the other hand on Russia's motives for conducting military aggression against Ukraine.
During the lectures, students had the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions and ask questions on topics of interest to them. In addition, working meetings were held with Hungarian colleagues, during which Mariam Eliadze's ongoing research directions were presented and the prospects for their development within the framework of international collaboration were discussed. These meetings were significant both for receiving professional feedback and for identifying opportunities for future joint research projects and academic cooperation.
"It was interesting to observe the engagement of students during the lectures and to hear their views on the international security system. The significance of the mobility for the university and faculty lies in the deepening of institutional contacts and the creation of a foundation for future academic and research collaboration. Such mobilities contribute to the internationalization of the university, the expansion of academic networks, and the establishment of new partnerships. Particularly interesting were the professional discussions with colleagues on topics of regional politics, democratic transformation, and international relations, which creates additional opportunities for the development of joint research initiatives in the future. During the meeting with colleagues, we agreed on a joint research project on the topic of political transformations in the Black Sea region and Eastern Europe together with Hungarian professors. We also planned a joint academic activity for next year" - Mariam Eliadze.
Mariam Eliadze's mobility was fully funded by the Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility Program and took place from March 5-11, 2026.
