Scientific-Practical Workshop

Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and the Institute for Development Studies invite you to a scientific-practical workshop on November 5, at 17:00-18:30: AI in the Scholarly Publishing Ecosystem: Global Challenges and Academic Integrity. The meeting will be held in Auditorium 407, Speaker: Natia Gabedava:

•  Expert-trainer in scholarly publishing;
• DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) Associate Editor;
• COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) - Committee Member; 
• Advisor on scholarly journal development, editorial policy, and international indexing;
• Expert in international standards for scholarly journals and publication ethics

The workshop will cover three key topics:

1. The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Scientific Research and Publishing Processes AI capabilities and global challenges in scientific research, academic writing, peer review, and publishing processes. The reliability of AI-generated information, fraudulent scientific sources, and risks related to research quality.

2. AI and Academic Integrity: Ethical Boundaries and Responsibility Ethical use of artificial intelligence in scientific activities; issues of authorship, plagiarism, transparency, and confidentiality. Human responsibility, trust, and the importance of ethical decisions when using AI.

3. International Publishing Standards and the Responsible Integration of AI COPE and DOAJ principles, international publishing practices, and editorial policies regulating the use of AI. Challenges faced by scholarly journals and practical approaches to ensuring academic integrity and international quality standards.
