Training on modern teaching approaches in Teaching of languages

On February 15, 2019, under the leadership of the Center for Professional Development and Foreign Languages, a training on "Modern Methods in Language Teaching" was held for foreign language lecturers at the University.

The training was led by Australian lecturer, Professor James Campbell Fern.

The training consisted of two parts.

In the first part, the trainer talked about the following topics:

1. Second language acquisition theory and examples; Passive vs active vocabulary
2. Thinking in English
3. The letter V, pronunciation skills
4. Developing tone

The second part was dedicated to the discussion of the following topics:

1.Teacher talk time
2. Using different media; Icebreakers, skits, role plays
3. Classroom management
4. Interjections and filler words
5. Academic reading skills
At the end of the day, participants were given certificates.
