– Clinical Competence and Professional Development Workplace-Based Assessment (WBA),

On June 15, 2025, lecturers from Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University's Medical Program successfully completed training in one of the most significant areas of contemporary medical education – Clinical Competence and Professional Development in Workplace-Based Assessment (WBA), which included methods such as CBD (Case-Based Discussion), DOPS (Direct Observation of Procedural Skills), and Mini-CEX (Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise).

The training was conducted under the guidance of an expert with international experience – Dr. Muhammad Shabbir (Muhammad Shabbir, MBBS, FCPS, CHPE, DHPE, ESME Assessment), who serves as Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of
Shaqra (Shaqra, Saudi Arabia).

This initiative represents a significant step in the continuous professional development of the university's academic staff and will substantially contribute to more effective and targeted assessment of students' clinical skills, which will ultimately be reflected in program quality and professional readiness.

Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University continues to develop program implementation staff in teaching- learning and assessment methods based on international standards and to strengthen its leadership in the field of medical education in Georgia.
