Erasmus+ Staff Mobility of the International Relations Manager at Sofia University
From April 22 to 28, 2025, Ms. Shorena Parunashvili, International Relations Manager at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, participated in the Erasmus+ KA171 administrative staff mobility program at St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Bulgaria.
During her visit, Ms. Parunashvili held meetings with colleagues from the university’s International Relations Office, where discussions focused on the establishment of a
Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions, as well as prospects for future joint projects.
As part of the visit, she also met with Professor Sonia Karabelyova, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, to explore opportunities for cooperation between the Faculty of Social Sciences at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and the Faculty of Philosophy at Sofia University.
Professor Karabelyova expressed strong interest in developing joint projects and initiating exchange programs for both staff and students. Sofia University offers comprehensive academic programs in psychology across all three levels of higher education. Additionally, the faculty hosts a Psychological Counseling Center established under an Erasmus+ institutional project, supported by European partners. Professor Karabelyova expressed her willingness to share experiences with Georgian colleagues and showed interest in visiting Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University to further enhance collaboration.
As a result of this mobility, a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed between Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and St. Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia. Furthermore, an Erasmus+ KA171 project proposal will be prepared for the 2026 application cycle.
This collaboration will also provide Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University faculty members with the opportunity to undertake short-term, fully funded research visits to Sofia University.
