Institute for Development Studies - IDS

Institute For Development Studies – IDS is the young and rapidly growing research unit.

The priority of the Institute is research of economic aspects of development (including Business and Tourism).

The institute aims to contribute in the research of development and establish academic links at national and international level. 
Institute supports the scientific-practical researches of development and broaden of studies through the organization of following activities: publication, trainings, seminars, workshops, conferences and public lectures. 

The Development’s scientific-practical series of seminars organized by Georgian and foreign professors and practician professionals evoked a huge interest of professor-teachers and students, which stimulates us to carry on organizing seminars and discussing different aspects of development with a bigger part of society. Institute releases annual English language magazine – DEVECO (articles are received annually including July), which is reviewed and has the number in the international standardized edition. Institute releases collection of works.
Institute organizes „3nd Annual International Conference in Post-Soviet Studies - Footprints of Socialist Past and Challenges of Development: Global vs Local“. 
Institute is widely open to the following directions of academic collaboration:
 

  • Fulfilling research and educational work on the national and international level;
  • Establishing research and educational contacts with local and foreign organizations
  • Fulfilling ordered or granted work by the international, state, private or nongovernmental organizations 
  • Translating work
  • Publication work
  • Organizing independently and collaboratively different types of scientific-practical and educational events (trainings, seminars, workshops, round table format, conference, public meetings and etc.).
