Prince David Institute for Law
Prince Davit Institute for Law is a scientific-research unit of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, which was established in 2012 as a non-profit legal entity. Members of the Institute are researchers from the academic staff of Sabauni as well as from other universities, practitioners from various fields of law and public administration.
The Institute is the largest research association in the field of law in the South Caucasus, focusing on practical and research activities in the field of law. The institute has published more than 70 books, textbooks and translations on current issues of modern law.
Within the framework of Prince David Institute for Law, in order to organize research activities and develop specific areas, the following have been created:
- Energy Law Center
- Center for Construction and Environmental Law
- Center for State Structure and Territorial Policy
- Center for American Law and Legal Philosophy
Along with scientific conferences, seminars, workshops and other practical or research activities, the Prince Davit Institute for Law organizes an annual national conference on "Complicated Cases in Judicial Practice", as well as a Journal "Legal Methods" published in 2017 in cooperation with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
The director of the institute is Professor Dimitry Gegenava, and the executive director is - Associate Professor Maka Partsvania.
