Study Tours
The Faculty of Law annually organizes students' visits to the international courts and European structures based on self-financing.
Project - Study Tours are carried out within three sub-projects in following directions:
Strasbourg – Paris (sub-project – “Human Rights and Euro-Structures”)
The Hague – Amsterdam (sub-project – “Universal International Courts”)
Brussels – Luxemburg (sub-projects – “Institutions of the European Union”)
Strasbourg – Paris (sub-project – “Human Rights and Euro-Structures”) is the most popular. Within the project, visits to the European Parliament (Strasbourg), Council of Europe, the European Court of Human Rights and Representation of Georgia to the Council of Europe are carried out.
In addition, a visit to the European Court of Human Rights includes not only attending the court trial, but also an informational visit. During the above-mentioned visit, usually a film about the Court is shown, and a meeting with Georgian lawyer of the courts is provided.
Within this project, cultural activities such as visiting Louvre Museum and other famous sights of Paris are provided.
It is possible to visit other cities, as well (for example Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden etc.)
Project participants are given certificates.
The Hague – Amsterdam (sub-project – “Universal International Courts”)
Within the project, there are provided visits to the International Court of Justice of the United Nations and its museum, the International Arbitrage of the United Nations, and the International Criminal Court.
A visit to the International Criminal Court includes attending the court trial as well as an informational visit. A Court representative introduces court specifics to the group.
Group members have the possibility of asking questions.
Within this project, it is planned to provide cultural activities such as visiting Royal Palace (The Hague), Van Gogh Museum (Amsterdam) and other famous sights of Amsterdam.

It is possible to visit other cities, as well (for example Rotterdam, Antwerp, Maastricht, etc.)

Brussels – Luxemburg (sub-projects – “Institutions of the European Union”)
Within the project, educational visits to the European Parliament (Brussels and Luxemburg), Council of the EU, European Commission and the Court of Justice of the European Union are carried out. A visit to the Court of Justice of the European Union includes the court trial as well as an informational visit. A Court representative introduces court specifics to the group.
Group members have the possibility of asking questions.
It is also possible to conduct a tour to the court infrastructure and library.
The tour also includes cultural activities (visiting museums and other famous sights)
It is possible to visit other cities, as well (for example, Ghent, Bruges, Antwerp, etc.)
Project participants are given certificates.
Study visit to the Autonomous Republic of Ajara
Within the project, Sabauni`s students, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Law and professors, visit the Constitutional Court of Georgia, the Supreme Council and the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara.
At the Constitutional Court, students are introduced to the principles and specifics of the work of the court, they receive information on current cases and the main issues that are considered by the Constitutional Court.
At the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Adara, students have the opportunity to learn about the peculiarities of the work of the representative body of the Autonomous Republic, the current legislative process, ask questions to representatives of the Supreme Council and more.
During the visit the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Ajara, students learn about the peculiarities of its activities, have the opportunity to ask questions to individual ministers of the Autonomous Republic, get acquainted with the existing problems and future visions.
Usually, study visits to the Autonomous Republic of Ajara take place in May-June each year.
Institutional visits to various public institutions
Annually informational visits to the Georgian public institutions are provided for students of the Faculty of Law. Students mostly visit the following public institutions:
- Tbilisi`s City Court, Tbilisi`s Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Georgia
- The Parliament of Georgia
- Public Service Hall
- Training Center of Justice of Georgia
- National Bureau of Enforcement
- Notary Chamber of Georgia
