First International Scientific Conference ,,Societies in Transition”

On 14-15 November, 2023 the Faculty of Social Sciences at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University organizes an international scientific conference "Societies at the Stage of Transformation," dedicated to the topic - In Search of Peace and Well-being."

Main Idea:
In the world of "VUCA" (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) also in a view of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine and global challenges, the issues of peace and human well-being are coming to the fore, especially the aspects of cultural and political transformation for the countries at the stage of democratic transition. Political, social and economic changes have a great impact over the development of states, migration, acceptance of these changes and stability of transitional democracies, just as over the perceptions, attitudes, demands, relations, freedom of expression and how human security, well-being and psychosocial health is generally perceived.

The modern research methods and theoretical assumptions give an opportunity to analyze the challenges of transitional societies from the perspective of interdisciplinary approach, with an emphasis on the study of historical and current experience of dealing with political conflicts, including the causes and possible consequences of the war in Ukraine; European security, including energy independence, prospects of new world order and also social prerequisites for the attitudes and behaviors of societies.

Goal of the Conference:
The aim of conference is to present scientific assumptions, analyze the challenging topics, demonstrate the ways/options for the prevention and intervention of anticipated problems and to share best practices in dealing with them.

Scientists with a doctor's or equivalent academic degree and PHD students are entitled to participate in the conference.

Publication opportunities:
Submitted papers will be sent for the review commission. After the review and positive feedback, the papers will be published in the following journals:
