Academic Mobility at the University of Valladolid
Tsisia Okropirize, Head of the Anti-Discrimination Law Centre at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, participated in the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme at the University of Valladolid, Spain.
Her mobility combined academic and administrative activities, during which she delivered lectures on human rights to Spanish students. In addition to the lectures, she took part in a meeting dedicated to innovative teaching methods, attended by both local staff and foreign professors visiting through the Erasmus+ programme. Participants had the opportunity to give short presentations about their home universities and share their experiences with innovative teaching approaches.
''It was a very significant experience for me. I would particularly highlight the lectures I delivered there, attended by students from more than twelve countries, where we discussed important issues related to human rights. This experience is also meaningful in that it gave rise to ideas for joint projects. There is considerable interest on their part in publishing articles in our journals. Accordingly, I am confident that following this mobility, collaboration between the universities will deepen further, as we already have concrete ideas for cooperation with the Faculty of Law'' - said Tsisia Okropirize.
Her academic staff mobility took place from 13-17 April 2026 and was fully funded by the European Commission's Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility programme. Sulkhan- Saba Orbeliani University and the University of Valladolid have been cooperating under the Erasmus+ programme since the 2017–2018 academic year, and to date dozens of students and staff members have visited Valladolid.
