Comparative Research Platform project took place at Sabauni
On September 22, the presentation of the Comparative Research Platform project took place at Sulkhan-Saba Orbelian University.
Professors Dimitry Gegenava, George Goradze, Ushangi Bakhtadze, and Simon Takashvili from the Sabaun Faculty of Law participated in the project presentation.
It was highlighted during the event that the Research Institute of the Ministry of Justice of Poland is the organizer of the project.
The project commenced in April 2023 and is scheduled to conclude with an international conference in November of this year. The results of the research will be published next year.
Seven countries in Central and Eastern Europe are participating in this project, namely the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Georgia, Romania, Croatia, and Ukraine. The project encompasses four directions:
- Constitution Amending Process
- Rule of Law
- Administrative Justice
- Efficiency of the Judiciary System
Each country is represented by four scientists, allocated according to the designated directions. Professors from Sulkhan-Saba Orbelian University are actively engaged in Georgia, focusing on the following topics:
- Dimitry Gegenava: Judicial Discretion, Hard Cases, and the Georgian System of Administrative Justice
- George Goradze: Constitutional Reforms in Georgia and European Constitutional Identity
- Ushangi Bakhtadze: Assessing the Efficiency of the Judiciary in Georgia: A Comprehensive Study
- Simon Takashvili: ADR and Its Legal Outcomes in the Light of Rule of Law and Legal Certainty
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Comparative Research Platform is a highly significant project that will contribute to the overall development of law and enhance understanding of the current state of Georgian law on an international scale.
The speakers discussed the research they conducted, and following the presentations, they addressed questions from the attendees.
The event saw the participation of Sabauni students, academic staff, and invited guests.
