Job Shadowing Program with the Catholic University of Cologne
Sharing experience and job shadowing was the central theme of a joint project between Sulkhan- Saba Orbeliani University and the Catholic University of Cologne (Katho), carried out in two stages during the 2025-2026 academic year.
In the first stage, in September 2025, the Chancellor, Human Resources Manager, Head of the Public Relations and Marketing Department, and International Relations Manager of Sulkhan- Saba Orbeliani University visited the Catholic University of Cologne for one week, where they held working meetings with their German colleagues.
In the second stage of the project, German colleagues from the same structural units visited SabaUni, and this time the working meetings took place at SabaUni, where SabaUni staff shared their own experience with the guests in a job-shadowing format as part of their daily activities. The German guests also met with representatives of other structural units of the university, who gave brief presentations introducing the Catholic University of Cologne.
'' This was already the second meeting with representatives of the University of Cologne within the framework of administrative staff mobility. Both visits fulfilled their intended goals and were beneficial for both parties. During the working meetings, professional knowledge, experience, and best practices were shared. Discussions were held regarding different administrative processes. Overall, the week-long intensive working meetings and cultural program further strengthened the directions for future cooperation between the two institutions - said Natia Shekiladze.
''Hosting the Katho delegation was a very valuable experience for us. Sharing professional experience in the field of human resources and engaging in open dialogue once again showed us how important international cooperation, mutual learning, and the exchange of best practices are between universities,'' - said Laliko Vachaberidze, Human Resources Manager.
At the end of the week, both sides summarized the visit, highlighted the new ideas and interesting approaches that emerged during these meetings, and also outlined future plans for strengthening cooperation between the universities.
In addition to work experience, the projects also aimed at sharing and getting acquainted with cultural experiences. The guests visited landmarks in Tbilisi and Mtskheta and attended the university's graduation evening. The German guests visited Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University from June 6-12.
