Visit of Prešov University Representatives to Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University
From May 13 to 16, Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University hosted a delegation from University of Prešov, including Vice-Rector and Head of the International Relations Office, Dr. Mária Kardis; Professor of Theology, Dr. Kamil Kardis; and Professor of the Faculty of Business and Management, Dr. Alexandra Champčáková.
During the visit, the Slovak delegation held meetings with the Rector of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, as well as with representatives from the Faculties of Theology and Business & Technology. The discussions focused on exploring various forms of deepening institutional collaboration.
Professor Kamil Kardis held a meeting with Professor Vaja Vardidze, where they discussed the prospects for enhancing cooperation between the Faculties of Theology. Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology, Professor Tamta Mikaberidze, and Professor Alexandra Champčáková expressed mutual interest in signing a memorandum of understanding and engaging in joint academic and research initiatives between their respective faculties.
Ms. Shorena Parunashvili, Manager of the International Relations Office, and Professor Mária Kardis discussed the ongoing Erasmus+ KA171 project, within the framework of which academic mobility for doctoral students and university staff will be implemented at the University of Prešov during the 2025–2026 academic year. Professor Mária Kardis also expressed willingness to engage in broader international cooperation beyond the scope of Erasmus+ KA171.
It is worth noting that, with the active support of the International Relations Office of the University of Prešov, Associate Professor Ana Gogilashvili from Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University was awarded a National Scholarship Program grant of Slovak Government, under which she conducted a one-month research residency at the University of Prešov.
The visit of the Slovak colleagues was carried out within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 staff mobility program, funded by the European Union.
