Erasmus+ mobility of Sabauni lecturers in Poland
Nani Manvelishvili, an affiliated assistant at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, and Irakli Nodia, an assistant, visited the John Paul II Pontifical University of Krakow in Poland under the Erasmus+ KA171 academic staff mobility program.
During their visit, the Sabauni lecturers delivered lectures to Polish students on Soviet propaganda and Polish-Georgian relations. In addition to the lectures, they held business meetings with representatives from the International Relations Office and the Rector's Office of the host university, as well as with Polish colleagues. During these meetings, they discussed the possibility of deepening cooperation between the universities through various joint projects. A joint workshop in Poland was also planned, and both parties expressed interest in participating in international conferences organized by the universities.
“The mobility turned out to be very interesting and full of diverse experiences. During the visit, we had the opportunity to meet both the administrative and academic staff at the University of Krakow. They gave us a detailed introduction to the university’s specifics, its values, and its mission. Additionally, we had the chance to visit the university’s extensive library and other resources that are actively used in the teaching process. The lectures held with students were especially engaging, conducted in an active mode. We also had the opportunity to discuss our scientific interests with Polish colleagues, exchange ideas, and talk about future plans. The experience we gained can be implemented in our daily lectures, and with the help of the new contacts we made, we will be able to invite colleagues to participate in activities planned at our university. It was also fascinating to learn about a new culture, meet new people, and experience local traditions. Krakow is an exceptionally beautiful city that will leave a lasting impression on anyone who visits.” – Nani Manvelishvili.
“First and foremost, the meetings at the university, both with academic staff and students, were very interesting for me. I expanded my network and made new contacts. While discussing with colleagues, I came up with the idea for a joint project. I had the chance to share my experiences with colleagues, which I will definitely incorporate into my work (teaching/administration). I am more motivated now and have a greater appreciation for my work at Sabauni.” – Irakli Nodia.
The mobility of Nani Manvelishvili and Irakli Nodia took place from March 10-14, 2025. The Pontifical University of Krakow is a long-term partner of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, with which the university cooperates on various projects.
