Sabauni professor spent one year with a research scholarship in Germany
Vaja Vardidze, professor of the Faculty of Law at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, obtained a KAAD research fellowship and spent a research stay at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich (Germany).
During one year, in parallel with his research activity, Prof. Vaja Vardidze held a cycle of lectures and seminars in the direction of the philosophy of religion and theological hermeneutics at the host university. The topics of the speeches were about the models of the first philosophical justification of theology, its hermeneutic and systematic foundations, as well as the theological understanding of authority and its epistemological and ecclesiological significance.
He also held several lectures at the Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg on issues of the history of religion, where the professor spoke about post-Soviet religiosity, its genesis, forms of manifestation, and development.
The topic of Professor Vardidze's research was related to issues of theological and philosophical hermeneutics.
KAAD (Catholic Academic Exchange Service) is a scholarship fund that finances the mobility of students and researchers to German higher education institutions and research organizations. Based on the memorandum of cooperation signed between Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and KAAD, Sabauni staff and PhD students can benefit from short-term research scholarships.
