Sabauni Students at a Summer School in Croatia
From June 30 to July 9 of this year a summer School “Practicing Resilience – Preparing for Recovery” was held in Šibenik, Croatia. The Summer School aimed to prepare for the recovery after the Russian-Ukrainian war. Students of Sabauni participating in the Summer School had the opportunity to attend academic events, as well as to involve in cultural, social, spiritual and sports activities.
“During 10 days I was actively involved in the lectures, several workshops and activities. The topics of the meetings were mainly linked with resilience and recovery after the war. Summer School was extremely important for me because it was focused not only on theoretical teaching but practical and applicable activities. It was crucial that we had a chance to share the hard experiences from Georgia’s past, personal histories about the traumas after the war and to receive the advice from practicing psychologists"- Tamar Zakroshvili, student of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
“One of the most memorable experiences in my life is this summer school, which took place in one of the most beautiful cities in Croatia. Although it was a very busy and intense program, I have a lot of fun and positive memories. I was impressed by the Croatian people, the Catholic University of Croatia and its representatives. We had a lot of interesting lectures and workshops. One of the most amazing thing that people can do for each other is Acceptance, and the best manifestation of it are Croatian people and the Catholic University of Croatia. I would like to thank Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University and my PhD supervisor for always taking care of my personal and professional development”- Tsisia Okropiridze, Doctorant of the Faculty of Law.
The Summer School was organized by Sabauni partner Universities- the Catholic University of Croatia, the University of Notre Dame (US)and the Ukrainian Catholic University. Summer School was launched last year in the frame of Catholic University Partnership and more than 40 students from USA, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Georgia, Ukraine and Croatia participated in it.
