Sopho Nadiradze’s Erasmus+ Mobility at Palacký University
Sopho Nadiradze, an affiliated assistant at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University, participated in a staff mobility program at Palacký University in the Czech Republic. She took part in an international week dedicated to the topic of inclusion, diversity and equal opportunities.
In addition to the main workshops and training sessions planned during the week, Sopho Nadiradze held working meetings with various departments at Palacký University: The Department of Special/Inclusive Education, the Department of Psychology, and the Department of International Relations.
“Meeting professors and administrative staff from universities in 21 different countries gave me a helicopter view of local challenges: the difficulties we face at our university in addressing the needs of neurodiverse and/or culturally diverse students are neither unique nor isolated. Even universities with large-scale resources are striving to find solutions to similar issues, which highlights a global trend — higher education institutions are undergoing a fundamental transformation to create inclusive and accessible educational environments and processes for all. This mobility convinced me that we are part of this global change and, most importantly, that we are moving in the right direction.” – Sopho Nadiradze
The week-long intensive program and working meetings helped participants identify international best practices. They also exchanged information on studying the principles of IDEB (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Belonging) and analyzing the Fair University concept. In addition, participants became familiar with the principles of operation of a support center for students with special needs.
Sopho Nadiradze’s mobility took place from June 2 to June 6, 2025, and was fully funded by the Erasmus+ KA171 program.
