Articles by Students and Affiliated Staff of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University Published in a Polish Journal
A collection of articles has been published in a Polish journal, featuring contributions from students and affiliated staff of Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University. The collection was compiled as part of the international research project “Threats to Democracy: Nationalism, Populism, Extremism, and the Christian Response to Them.”
This international research project, dedicated to the study of the threats and challenges facing democracy, was implemented in three stages between December 2022 and June 2023 in Krakow (Poland), Herdorf (Germany), and Paris (France). The project was organized by the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow (Poland), Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University (Georgia), and the University of Erfurt (Germany).
The objectives of the international research project were to:

Highlight the relevance of the topic of threats to democracy and present the issue from theological, political, legal, cultural, and economic perspectives;

Analyze the ongoing processes from both positive and negative angles, taking into account the current situations in Georgia, Poland, Germany, and Hungary;

Involve students and young researchers in a scientific-research project on an international level and encourage deeper interest in the topic;

Promote understanding of the historical, political, and religious characteristics of foreign countries among the participants and foster intercultural relationships.
This project was jointly implemented by the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow (Poland), Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani University (Georgia), and the University of Erfurt (Germany).
