Summer School “„Practicing Resilience - Preparing for Recovery“
Applications are now open for the Summer School. The theme of the Summer School is “Practicing Resilience – Preparing for Recovery,” which will be hosted by the Catholic University of Croatia in Dubrovnik from July 10-20 of this year. The topics of the Summer School are focused on post-war recovery and support for Ukrainians affected by the Russo-Ukrainian war.
The idea of establishing the Summer School arose after Russia launched a large-scale war in Ukraine, as a sign of support and solidarity with the Ukrainian people among Catholic universities. Accordingly, 50% of the participants in the Summer School will be Ukrainian.
The Summer School is organized by the Catholic University of Croatia, with the great support of the Nanovic Institute of European Studies, the Catholic University of Ukraine and the Partnership of Catholic Universities.
Professors and renowned lecturers from numerous Catholic universities will be gathered together to provide students with a unique learning experience. The program emphasizes education with 24 hours of lectures, 7 hours of workshops, 6.5 hours of the capstone project, more than 40 hours of reading materials, and more than 13 hours of cultural activities that will approach resilience and hope from a specific perspective. The Summer School program, along with educational aspects, also includes spiritual, social, cultural and sports events. Given its specificity, the program includes daily participation in various religious activities.
The following questions will be discussed during the 2025 Summer School:
